Cooperation and information in the household
Abstract
According to the dominant theoretical framework - the collective model, household members pool resources and decisions are made efficiently. However, empirical realities frequently deviate from the model’s assumptions, particularly in low-income settings characterized by imperfect information, limited enforceability of agreements, and strategic behaviors. The workshop will discuss lab and field experiment, as well as other empirical tools, to test cooperation and information sharing in the household.
