Title : Charismatic Leadership and Task Morality: Insights on Motivation and Performance
File : Download
Abstract : This study examines how charismatic leadership influences motivation and performance in tasks with varying moral significance. While prior research has focused on the effectiveness of charismatic motivation speeches in morally charged contexts, their impact in low morality settings remains unclear. We plan to conduct real-effort experiments leveraging AI-generated leadership videos to ensure high experimental control and eliminating variability in human performance. A pre-test will evaluate whether AI-generated leaders are perceived as equally charismatic and motivating as human-recorded leaders. The main experiment will then use AI-generated charismatic and standard speeches to assess the effectiveness of charismatic leadership in highand low-morality tasks, contributing to leadership theory and experimental methodology.
