Title : Culture and Evolution

Economics has for long neglected evolutionary principles in its core analysis. However, today, Economics is progressively being influenced by the evolutionary approach, putting culture, previously assumed to be static and universal, at the center of its analysis. In this presentation, we will review the most recent advancements in Economics that arise from the application of the evolutionary approach. We will go through the following themes: 1) cultural evolution, 2) cultural differences in time and space 3) cultural mismatches, 4) implications for conflict and cooperation.
